The Stash series takes its title from the pieces of cardboard the homeless use to sleep on, deriving their name from the action of tucking them behind objects to avoid them being discarded by street cleaners.
They caught my interest as artefacts for events hidden from view. They exist as markers of stories unheard, as if the street itself were pages from a book. Equally, they talk of presence and absence and hint of territory with invisible boundaries, of space conquered by need.
